Summer Solstice Yoga with Live Music and Fire of Intention

June 20, 2008 at 7:00 pm


Join us at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 20 for Yoga with Live Music by Ibrahima Faye, amazing West African guitarist and percussionist! After class, gather around the fire pit where we ignite our intentions with the coming solstice!

$13 for yoga class; bring a tip for the musician; bring a snack to share if you wish!

Join us at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 11 for Yoga with Live Music by Henrik who will accompany our yoga practice with singing bowls and a variety of other amazing instruments! After class, gather around the fire pit for some gourmet s'mores!

Workshops and Teacher Training

I'm very pleased to offer a special workshop series that can be taken as in-depth workshops, teacher training for those beginning their study, or continuing education for those who are certified yoga teachers!

You can choose to take a single workshop or all four! Each workshop costs $50. All workshops are hosted by Ocean Earth Wind Fire, so please call Susan to register!

Aligning and Assisting Asanas

This four-part series explores the physical and energetic alignment of the common postures in our practice as well as how to modify and assist those postures to draw oneself or one's students deeper into the presence of the postures.

Sunday, July 13, 2008 11:30 am to 3:30 pm: This class begins with an introduction to energetic and physical alignment followed by an in-depth study of 6 postures: Tadasana (mountain pose), Uttanasana (intense pose), Adho Muka Svanasana (downward facing dog), Bidalasana I and II (cat poses), and Anjenayasana II (Anjenay's pose, a lunge).

Sunday, July 27, 2008 11:30 am to 3:30 pm: We'll begin with a quick review and Q&A, and then continue with 9 postures to study Sun Salutations and Moon Series in depth: Urdvha Uttanasana (upward intense pose), Palakanasana and Chaturanga Dandhasana (plank pose and four-limb staff pose), Urdvha Muke Svanasana (upward facing dog), Utkatasana (fierce pose), Virbhadrasana I (warrior I pose), and Chandrasana I, II, and III (moon poses I, II, and III).

Sunday Aug 3, 2008 11:30 am to 3:30 pm: Following a review and Q&A, we'll begin our study of standing and balancing postures.

Sunday, August 17, 2008 11:30 to 3:30 pm: Following a review and Q&A, we'll begin our study of floor postures, particularly hip openers and back bends.
